AN OVERVIEW OF WOOLF:The First Blockchain University
In the last five years,the idea of building a functional primary educational system on the blockchain would have seemed to exist in fairy tales or science fiction.Today in our own very lifetime,an experience team of educational administrators are not building primary nor secondary educational platform on blockchain but have gone a lot higher by building the first blockchain university in the world called the Woolf Project.
The Woolf Project aimed at establishing a fully-accredited, borderless, blockchain-based University.Our project was launched in March,2018 and has since appeared on global news platforms like forbes,Nasdaq and The Times.It has also gained the support of ASIA TIMES,Blasting News,YouthTime,The World University Ranking,FN.com,Campus Morning Mail,Bitcoin Facil,EL-PAS,DER SPIEGEL and many more.
THE PROBLEMS
Woolf project was able to identify the major seemingly unsolvable hurdles in most educational system which include but not limited to huge overhead expenses on students and staff,huge security expenditure on and off-campus,administrative bottlenecks and bereaucracy,over-population hence infrastructural decadence,low revenue due to unaffordably high tuition fee and the worst of all,lack of personal support for the students.
WOOLF’S SOLUTION:IT’S USE CASE
Woolf is delivering a software platform which will serve as a meeting point of distance learning for teachers and learners all over the world who are involved with the Woolf university. There is also an option for in-person learning within the App. However,whether it is in-person or online the lecture is always logged onto the blockchain in as much as the Woolf App is used for lecture delivering.We are adopting the Ox-bridge model of personalised educational system that has been adjudged one of the best in the world.
THE UNIQUENESS OF WOOLF’S USE CASE
1)DECENTRALISED EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM:Woolf is poised to established a decentralised and automated university system by rolling out personalised online teaching facility leveraging on digital platforms like zoom and skype to reduce administrative cost.
2)SECURED EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM:The burden of securing the students,staff,school facilities and files are being reduced drastically and taken off the shoulders of the school administrators and are handled online through blockchain technology.
3)BORDERLESS HIGHER EDUCATION:Traditional universities are mostly region-based and country-based unlike the Woolf University that is totally online. However,most online universities have physical office for at least enquiries. At Woolf,we do not have nor plan to have a physical office rather all our activities shall be carried out online by a decentralised network of computers spread all over the world.
4)FLEXIBLE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM:At Woolf,students are at liberty to search and apply for courses that suits their interest and the tutor they wish to guide them personally. They are free to choose the time and duration of their lecture. Moreso,the tutors are at liberty to advertise their abilities ,remuneration as well as the time and duration they wish to work.
5)DEMOCRATIC UNIVERSITY EDUCATION:At Woolf,we do not plan to establish a corporation like say Facebook,Uber,or Apple rather we plan to organise a decentralised and democratic higher educational system run by our community and for our community members. The little affordable tuition fee proceed will be ploughed back to develop the Woolf ecosystem.
6)SMART ADMINISTRATION OF EDUCATION:All forms of payment that include tuition fee,salary payment and university budgetary allocation as well as student/teacher application,registration,bio-data collection,recording of educational performance and voting on new project within the school system would be carried out through a smart contract leveraging on the ethereum blockchain and smart contract.
7)APPROVED EDUCATIONAL PLATFORM:The Woolf team consist of members who have acted as expert advisors to government and regulators on university accreditation. Also,the members of Woolf’s advisory board have been responsible for overseeing the establishment of various universities from ground breaking till completion. So,the team is very experienced in the process of establishment and accreditation of universities that is why Woolf was granted the full right of awarding degree in Europe within just 6 months of the submission of our proposal. Moreso,the Minister of Education of Malta,the head of the National Commission for Further and higher Education has thrown his weight behind the Woolf Project and we are also in talk with the Ministry of Education of Andorra and the UK.We have plan to talk to more governments of the world for approval as we keep penetrating other parts of the world.
